An HP PageWide T240 high speed web inkjet press has been installed at ProCo’s Stansted, Essex site, together with two Böwe Systec sheeter/encloser lines, associated DFE and workflow software.
The company has restructured operations at the Stansted site around the high volume capabilities of the new press, which has a monthly duty cycle of 60 million pages. The investment is intended to bring higher volume to ProCo’s direct mail and related applications, currently served on the digital print side by a fleet of HP Indigo toner presses, mostly located at the company’s Sheffield site. It’s also possible that the inkjet will be used for book or catalogue printing.
‘This is massive for us,’ ProCo CEO Jon Bailey told Digital Printer, adding that since the installation of the press in June, ProCo has won new business and is ‘already averaging half a million pieces of personalised DM per day, volumes that we expect to continue to increase in the coming months.’
